Book Blurb:

Unread is an anthology of 100 writers from all across the country published by ‘Platform for Artists’. This book is a collection of English and Hindi literary work by writers who have published their books, performed and inspired thousands of artists through their words online and offline. Or one can say, it’s an amalgamation of 100 different personalities, each with a myriad of experiences to share.

About Platform for Artists:

Platform for Artists was founded by Pawan Rochwani in April 2017. It is a community of 10000 artists who pursue their art passionately and strive to achieve their dream every single day. It always aims at conducting interdisciplinary projects to attain the best possible output through the cumulative efforts of all the people who joined in and has started conducting projects like PFA Art All Night, PFA Getaway, PFA Exhibition, PFA workshops, PFA Open Mic events, where artists come together to perform, create art and network with like minded people. ‘Unread’ is one of the published creations of some of these writers/artists.

Review:

This book is mainly a collection of poems with a few prose chapters. And when it comes to poetry, as we all know, it’s a method of expressing thousands of emotions in a few words and those words ring in our hearts and linger in our minds forever, if well crafted. Isn’t it! In this book also, 99 different writers/poets from 99 different cities, age groups and backgrounds came forward and tried to paint their emotions on the given blank papers whether it’s love, desire, fantasy, fear, dreams, hope, pain or anything that oozed out from their hearts. Yes, they didn’t restrict themselves to a particular theme and each poem is independent of the other, making its own path to the readers desk. Each writer’s ink flows in its own unique pace and direction and reflects her/his own way of narrating a story. Here also, every writer made an attempt to come up with one’s own style of presenting their piece. One can find some of the them to be alluring while some may not succeed to drive your attention.

Well, let’s come to the interesting elements of the book. The name of the book ‘UNREAD’ is a catchy one and the glossy yellow cover designed with some innovative thought(crumbled unread papers thrown all over waiting to be read by someone) is something which would draw your attention. And even the page numbers are strikethrough, which adds to the concept of Unread.

Now, let’s come to the surprise element. Did you hear me mentioning only about 99 writers? If yes, you heard me right! It’s 99, so where’s the 100th writer? To know more, give it a read. Who knows, you may be 100th one!

Feedback:
The authors have played well with their ink and paper, portraying a myriad of emotions, views and thoughts by means of simple and short collection of poems. Rest assured, if the poems could have been elaborated more in depth(some even in length), with the inherent story/message intact, it would have made it more appealing and in turn, build a more strong connection with the readers.
